When is enough, enough?

The numbers are staggering…study after study shows that over 70% of people are unhappy in their career, describing their experience as ranging from just plain “meh” to downright “career hell”.

But what’s worse than feeling unhappy in your career is the fact that we often hide from our truth because

  • we’re afraid to admit how unhappy we are,
  • we feel guilty, foolish or ungrateful for not wanting the job we do have,
  • we’re worried about what people will think if we do something different, and
  • scared that our unhappiness is a sign that we’ll never be truly happy.

So we spend months – sometimes years – stagnating in a job that isn’t a reflection of our true awesomeness. We grow more resentful, less confident and even more scared to make changes that are necessary.

Perhaps you can relate?

But when is enough, enough?

How much of your energy is sucked up by hating your job? What if you could refocus that energy into moving towards something you do want?

We stay stuck because our fear is greater than our desire. And we deny the world what we’re truly capable of.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Small doses of courage can completely turn your career (and therefore your life) around.

You already have a desire for change. Now take it one step further and focus some energy into it by:

  • hiring a coach
  • visualizing your ideal career or biz
  • reading books or listening to audios

If even 51% of your energy is spent focusing on what you DO want, rather than what you DON’T want, you’ll start to see big shifts in momentum, and a career you love becomes that much closer.

So don’t waste another minute having a “hate on” for your current job. You deserve better, and you can have it. You just have to be willing to do something about it. Take that first step today and see what a difference refocusing your energy will make on your life.
