What Happens When You Take A Stand?

Not so long ago the thought of traveling as part of my work seemed really far out of reach for me.

Even though my heart ached to be able to travel with my work and to create long weekends for myself, I thought that it just wasn’t possible for me.

I thought, “Oh no. I can’t do that.”  And I always had a socially acceptable excuse to stay put.  I told myself that my kids weren’t old enough, my husband’s work schedule was too erratic, and the real killer was thinking that “good wives” don’t travel without their husbands. (Ouch!)

So I played it safe and stuck close to home but secretly my desire to travel – and my resentment for not doing so – kept growing.  Until I finally realized that my denying myself was actually hurting everyone.

I was hypercritical of my kids and my husband, I wasn’t as fuelled up for my clients, and I felt out of integrity for abandoning my true desires.

When I finally took a stand for what I wanted (like regular vacations, weekly spa treatments, and a 4-day work week) was the month I made five figures.

So try making this your mantra:

Stop playing it safe.

Give yourself permission to be you.

Make your desires a reality.

Just like me, you have what it takes to create a career of freedom and wealth.

Your first step is to commit to yourself.  No more playing the victim. No more being a martyr. No more denying who you really are.

Make a promise to yourself that, no matter what, you’re going to find a way to make your career vision a reality and to gift yourself the support you need to open those doors.

Because there’s nothing more powerful than a woman who says “Yes!” to herself.
